During the late 19th century, Simon Baruch, the founder of New York city’s public bathing system, called the Viennese establishment "the most elegant bath dwelling in the World." Among its regular guests was the Archduke Ludwig Viktor of Austria, who was famous for his noun of men.
Today, Kaiserbründl with its largely unchanged interior has become one the World’s most famous gay saunas.
By public transport
The optimal way to get to Kaiserbründl Herrensauna is via the U1/U3 subway station Stephansplatz/City Center. Leave the station at exit Kärntner Straße and turn left onto Weihburggasse (at the Apple Store). Then hike for a few minutes until you hit Franziskanerkirche church. The entrance to Kaiserbründl Herrensauna is on the right side of the church.
