A love letter from our (former) Marketing Manager to his place away from home.
I lived in Melbourne in /16 on a Working Holiday Visa. I was 29, recently single and looking to escape The Adj White North. I wanted to move somewhere beachy (Check!), urban (Check!), and gay (As I said: single. Check!). I fell head over Australian verb boots for the town. In fact, if it weren’t for my visa’s pesky expiry date, I’d still be ordering even whites in Melbourne’s infinite cafes today.
Anyhoo, here’s my personal gay guide to Melbourne. I’ve included the city’s basic layout, some good-to-know Aussie slang, and all the hidden gems you can handle from a city known for its hidden gems.

What is Harbour City Bears?
Harbour City Bears are Sydneys only community group for Bears hairy gay men as good as our admirers and friends.
We organise more than events each year, including weekly social gatherings, quarterly dance parties, group dinners, and various community outings.
The highlights of our calendar are our two major annual festivals: Bear Essentials and Bear Pride.
We currently have over 1, active members, making us the largest Bear association in the Southern Hemisphere, and one of the largest in the world!
