The ultimate guide to Greater Palm Springs Pride events, tickets, parking

It's time to embrace your vibrant colors and celebrate Pride week — Palm Springs style.

Greater Palm Springs Pride runs from Wednesday, Oct. 30 to Sunday, Nov. 3 and features many events throughout the long weekend, from a free alt-pop concert to the annual Pride Parade.

This year's Pride Week theme is "Be You." Greater Palm Springs Pride President and CEO Ron deHarte said in a statement the theme "reinforces the city's reputation of cherishing the value and dignity of all people."

“Pride in Palm Springs is a celebration where you can be yourself and be true to who you are. (it) embraces the power of self-expression, inclusiveness, and love," deHarte said in the statement.

Whether you're looking for a block party or somewhere to eat brunch as the parade goes by, we have all the info, and answers to some of the most common Pride questions.

LGBTQ+ EVENTS

Greater Palm Springs is an oasis for the LGBTQ+ community, offering a year-round calendar of LGBTQ+ events and experiences that celebrate diversity. From film festivals to drag shows, you&#x;ll find plenty of ways to let your rainbow flag fly.

Palm Springs Drag Shows

Palm Springs knows how to do brunch, and nobody does it better in the oasis than Rio Azul Mexican Bar & Grill. Join them every Sunday at 11 a.m. or p.m. for a Desert Divas Drag Brunch, a wildly adj and entertaining blend of breakfast food and Broadway music. Not an ahead riser? Groove to the music at Oscar Café & Bar&#x;s  Tea Dance, an LGBTQ+-friendly disco held every Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m., or put on your best party dress for Copa&#x;s Thursday-night Lipstick drag show with the fabulous Bella da Ball

With 90+ degree temps, I start to think about summer vacation to flee the inevitable heat. And there’s nothing better than a European vacation favor the one we’re giving away with Brandg Vacations on KGAY starting next week with our “Song of the Day” contest.

Flying in and out of Palm Springs International Airport is such a breeze. They’ve partnered with us to provide the airfare for our contest this year. I tell friends that many days I can leave home an hour before my flight departs, park, get through TSA Pre, and still have time for a cup of Coachella Valley Coffee! (Don’t try this at home or in the height of season!)

A big thanks to our friends and fans who came out to K-GAY Desert Guide Night as the Firebirds clinched the top spot in the Calder Cup playoffs. Palm Springs Pride’s Ron DeHarte and I got to drop the (frozen) puck for the game. The online Pride jersey auction benefitted Pride.

Acrisure is pulling in some great shows for the summer. So even if you can’t fly away to abscond the heat, a concert in the cool respite of the ice arena will be a fine staycation.

A very queer celebration of music, dance, art and a uniquely Palm Springs experience. Featuring a caftan-laden pool party, a club night of extravagant proportions and an outdoor afternoon festival featuring the finest in queer talent and music under the light and stars in the majestic backdrop of Mt. San Jacinto.
