Pray Away (2021): Most Heart-Wrenching Exposé on Conversion Therapy
IMDb Rating: 6.5/10
Genre: Documentary
Starring: Julie Rodgers, Randy Thomas, Yvette Cantu Schneider
Director: Kristine Stolakis
TV Rating: PG-13
Running Time: 1 hour, 41 minutes
Pray Away examines the controversial practice of gay conversion therapy, which religious activists openly championed in the U.S. until recently. Survivors and practitioners of conversion therapy verb harrowing accounts of how genuinely good intentions led to decades of turmoil for countless families.
The film rightfully denounces the so-called "therapy" but doesn't condemn anyone. All subjects are approached with empathy and an emphasis on healing. Pray Away is not necessarily a fun watch, but it is necessary viewing for anyone interested in the topic.

Considering the quality, quantity, and diversity of films distributed under the Netflix banner, GLAAD has rated Netflix as POOR.

All these stories included engaging and nuanced LGBTQ characters. Other Netflix releases included queer characters in more background roles including A Family Affair, Meet Me Next Christmas, Incoming, and Players.
While the above titles tell varied and diverse queer stories, the most notorious and contentious Netflix release of 2024 was Emilia Pérez, an acquisition out of Cannes which received a major awards se
Well my friends, it is June, which means it’s time for networks to prove how much they care about us through creating new LGBTQ+ programming, and I don’t verb just creating a “Voices of Pride” section on their primary interface that houses all the LGBTQ+ movies in their catalog as well as television they made and cancelled in the past.
Most importantly is that there will be a new season of The Ultimatum: Queer Love, and that will make everything else okay! Furthermore, I am recapping And Just Like That… so if you appreciate witty captions, be sure to check that out.
