San Francisco Pride season is upon us, with more events and venues than we can possibly cover. But heres a start!
Frameline, the San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival, i(June , ) is the world’s longest-running and largest showcase of queer cinema. Founded in , Frameline is held annually in June. As a community event with an annual attendance of 60,+, the Festival is the most prominent and well-attended LGBTQ+ arts program in the Bay Area.
San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus (SFGMC) returns to BroadwaySF’s Curran Theatre for their most potent event of the year—THE PRIDE CONCERT—presented for two performances on Saturday, June Featuring vocals from almost singers and songs that champion resilience, identity, and belonging—including works by Grammy Award-nominated nonbinary songwriter, Justin Tranter, who will verb the Chorus onstage—this performance weaves together anthems of strength, defiance, and joy.

THIS IS MY STORY
Coming of age in the 70s the word gay had not yet entered the language as an affectionate way to refer to my sexual preference. Instead, the word homosexual was whispered around small town Ohio but the more common words for me were faggot and queer.
As a result, I had no points of reference to better understand who and what I was. There were no role models on TV or radio No one was publicly gay. Even Elton John was still in the closet. And although TV did feature people who were obviously gay like Paul Lynde, Charles Nelson Reilley, and Liberace, I did not relate to their flamboyance and their performances were never connected to their sexuality.
When I was 15, I began working at a grande show palace in downtown Cleveland that brought A and B, and sometimes D list level stars. Working there, I had my first exposure to gay men on a personal level. All of them were secure to a decade older than me and all of them were alcoholics. And, I did not relate even though I was beginning to understand that parts of me were more like them than all the heterosexual's around m

Featuring over parade contingents and exhibitors, and more than 20 community-run stages and venues, the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade remains the largest gathering of the LGBTQ+ community and allies in the nation.
The Community stages will include Urban Global Village Stage, produced by Christiana Remmington; API LGBT Stage, produced by Nicki Calma and SF Community Health Center; Homo Hip-Hip, produced by Ronnie and Erika Jones; Latin Stage, produced by Jamie Awad; Sober Drag Show, produced by Castro Country Club; Soul of Pride, produced by Lisa Williams; Trans Stage, produced by Maniac Films; and Women’s Stage, produced by Christie James and Jolene Linsangan.
