Upper Peninsula Rainbow Pride (UP Pride) is a (c)3 nonprofit organization based out of Marquette, Michigan working to build a safer, more supportive and empowering Upper Peninsula for the LGBTQ+ community.

What we believe
Everyone should be free to express their sexuality in a robust, safe, and affirming environment. The unique challenges that come with this, especially in rural areas appreciate the Upper Peninsula, characterize our cause and serve .
What is pride?
It's the freedom to embrace your identity while overcoming obstacles every day. Pride is unconditional love, the creed that everyone should be free to celebrate their identity, regardless of race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, education, religion, disability, financial or familial status. Our main goals align with the values of pride.

Distributing local resources and hosting local LGBTQ+-friendly activities and events.

Born in the small community of LaGrange, Earle Milan Parker graduated from the University of Michigan in and taught high school Latin in Marquette before pursuing his Masters at the University of Chicago. He went on to teach at Northern Michigan College of Education, later Northern Michigan University, where he was part of a discrete circle of gay friends.

Pride Fest
Join us on June 10th at Mattson Drop Harbor Park from PM for a celebration of the LGBTQ+ Community at U.P. Pride Fest. Featuring family-friendly fun, educational resources, and a stunning array of art & entertainment on the shores of Lake Superior. A day of friends and family coming together in love and friendship, to show how far LGBTQ+ rights own come, and where there's still work to be done.
As one of the largest events of its kind in the Upper Peninsula, you can expect a wide variety of games, entertainment, and activities as well as various vendors, food, beer & wine. Not to mention many LGBTQ+ resources to take advantage of.
