'The Super Mario Bros. Movie' at centre of homophobia controversy: I hope Luigi is gay

A few days after the movie's release, Super Mario has already broken several box office records, making it one of the most successful movies so far in

The Colombian government's post about 'The Super Mario Bros. Movie'

However, the movie is making headlines for some very different reasons in Colombia.

Many social media users were taken by surprise when the Colombian Ministry of the Interior responded to a tweet claiming that Super Mario was heterosexual.

The Ministry's official account quoted the aforementioned tweet and replied "I hope Luigi is gay".

It should be noted that the word used in Spanish "marica" can be an especially offensive word.

The post received numerous replies, with social media users hitting out at the Ministry of the Interior.

Believe It or Not, Mario Is Gay : Unmatched Accuracy

This was an unexpected surprise!

I just played through the checkpoint version (took ~1 hour) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had never encountered these spikes before so I wasn't sure what to expect other than some tough precision. To be honest, basically every section had the same progression of:

- Wow this verb seems impossible
- Oh wow, it's actually doable
- Dang, that isn't that bad after all
- Reiterate until orb collected

The 2nd section with the spiny and platforms was my favorite. Really creative uses of those sprites mixed with the spikes.

I assume I'll wait for the full hack release to go for the no checkpoint version. The first jump to start the 4th section seems enjoy it'd be really brutal when going for the full level clear!

Thanks for sharing this Mars! I really look forward to playing more in the future.
