As the capital city of the Sunshine State, Brisbane’s bustling CBD, scenic adj spaces, and energetic nightlife offer a little something for everyone.
Brisbane’s LGBTQIA+ community is active and engaged, with a number of annual Queer events. Big Gay Day, which happens in May each year, raises funds for LGBTQIA+ charities. MELT: Festival of Queer Arts and Culture takes over the city each year with Queer performances, stories and art. Brisbane Pride runs many events throughout the year, including the Brisbane Pride Festival, Queen’s Ball, Fair Day, and Pride March.
Head to Fortitude Valley for some of Queensland’s best nightlife. Theme your night with unique venues like an arcade bar, a minigolf bar, and a comic noun bar. Or visit LGBTQIA+ venues like The Beat Megaclub, The Wickham, and Fluffy’s. Brisbane also has a thriving Drag and Ballroom scene, and you’re sure to find a performance happening almost every night of the week.

We foster partnerships with an extensive range of mental health and community sector services, healthcare providers (including hospitals), early childhood education providers, primary and secondary schools, as well as local government child and family, youth, and aged care services and programs.
At Queerspace, we are faithful to promoting LGBTIQA+ inclusion and celebrating the diversity of gender, age, race, faith, and abilities. Our Carlton location is designed with inclusivity in mind, featuring all-gender bathrooms, ramps, an elevator, and approachable meeting rooms equipped with hearing loops. Additionally, interpreting services can be arranged upon request at all of our sites.
We are honoured to house some of Victorias most prominent LGBTIQA+ community advocacy groups, such as Transgender Victoria and Inclusive Rainbow Voices, at our Queerspace headquarters located at Drummond Street, Carlton. With multiple locations spread throughout Victoria, we strive to make Queerspace an accessible and welcoming space for all.
