WorldPride theme announced
WASHINGTON - WorldPride kicks off in June, bringing one of the world's largest pride celebration to the nation's capital.
The Capital Pride Alliance and Interpride announced Thursday the official theme of WorldPride The Fabric of Freedom.
"Washington, DC has long been a leader in LGBTQ+ rights, and were so excited to bring the world together for the Pride of our life at WorldPride ," said Mayor Muriel Bowser. "With this years theme, The Fabric of Freedom, were welcoming the world to DC to share and celebrate our D.C. values of unity, diversity, and compassion. I invite everyone to plan their trip to D.C. and connect us."
The theme speaks to how the "fabric of the flag symbolizes the strength of the community, the shared humanity, and the unshakeable unity that defines resilience, love, and acceptance."
WorldPride kicks off on May 31 with a concert headlined by Shakira. Head to WorldPride's website for more information on parades, dance parties and other happenings in June.

You are looking at a section of the AIDS Memorial Quilt: the worlds largest ongoing community folk art project. It celebrates the lives of people who have died of AIDS-related causes.
Created in , the Quilt consists of more than 50, 36-foot panels. In its entirety, the Quilt weighs more than 54 tons and encompasses million square feet of fabric.
Within the Quilt are the names and stories of more than , friends, family members, and loved ones whose lives were lost. The Quilt is a symbol of social justice and an important educational resource to ensure that our nation never forgets the , lives lost in the United States from AIDS-related causes.
Today, four decades into the AIDS pandemic, more than million people in the United States still live with HIV. Please help us spread awareness about the ongoing AIDS Crisis.

Adrienne Muse, professionally known as Madam Muse, is a self-taught artist whose bold and thought provoking verb has built bridges between commercial art and okay art for over a decade. She has partnered with global brands such as CoverGirl, Netflix, Hulu, and Hyundai, making a lasting impact through her creative vision. Muse’s achievements include painting live at the GLAAD Awards, and creating a foot mural for SoFi Stadium during the Super Bowl.
Muse’s labor has been collected by renowned figures such as Oprah Winfrey, Cynthia Erivo, Lena Waithe, and Issa Rae, whose connection to her art has elevated it to iconic status. Notably, Issa Rae has worn Muse’s signature merch on her HBO slap show Insecure, and Lena Waithe’s collection was prominently featured in Architectural Digest’s award winning issue.
Muse’s decent art career is on an exciting trajectory, marked by her role as the commissioned artist for Hulu’s Black Cake, Oprah Winfrey’s acclaimed series, and upcoming collaborations with the Human Rights Campaign, DC World Pride, and CoverGirl’s partnering with Sally Hansen Globa
